The Bourgogne region in France is of course very well known for its sublime red ánd white wines! But have you have heard of the green lungs of the Bourgogne? That is how the natural park Morvan is also called. It is a mountainous area where you can find true unspoiled nature. The landscape is characterised by mountains, hills, vast forests, blue lakes and rippling rivers. So we had to come here for 3 rides and explore this area. Besides the nature the Morvan also holds many nice little towns, much of them with a medieval character. We have chosen the cosy town of Avallon as our central point for our tour here that we have named Medieval Morvan, which city reigns over the picturesque Cousin valley and is known as “one of the most charming towns” in the department of Yonne.
Of course you can download the GPX / ITN files and full e-books of the 3 rides we have in this tour via our roadtrip planner but you can already find the info in this blogpost.

In this part of the Belgian Ardennes the river Ourthe draws large, graceful loops in the typical Ardenne landscape. The exceptional natural beauty has made the heart of the Ardennes and La Roche-en-Ardenne popular for visitors. From the 19th century the first tourists came to La Roche to enjoy the mountains and the castle ruins that stand above the village. Like a work of art of transience. The early visitors were the founders of tourism and the prosperity of La Roche and hotels were built, restaurants opened and a tourist office established. So a perfect central point for our Battle of the Bulge motorcycle tour here in the Ardennes.

For the tour that we have called Monet's Trail we have chosen Rouen as the central point. Rouen is the capital of Normandy and was a thriving commercial city due to its location on the river Seine giving direct access by sea. The city was heavily bombed during WW II but on the North bank many sights have been preserved, making Rouen almost an open air museum in its entirety. The Cathedral of Our Lady inspired the French impressionist painter Claude Monet for his impressive series of impressions of the cathedral facade. So a perfect central point for our Monet inspired tour. With the rides we will be exploring this part of Normandy with some Monet inspired and other stops to fully enjoy your roadtrip here.
