Secret checkpoint at the Friends 800
Although we live in The Netherlands, Johan and I, together with 5 other friends are members of the Friends on Wheels Antwerp. And we even form our own little chapter Friends on Wheels Brabant.
Every year a fairly big group of the Friends on Wheels Antwerp join an endurance ride organised by the Antwerp Diamond Port Chapter: the 500 miles. Due to Covid it had been cancelled last year and even the alternative that the Friends on Wheels came up with had to be postponed. Until today!
Unfortunately the weather forecasts are not very favourable, so only a few die hard members are riding the alternative today. The Friends 800. 4 routes from Antwerp adding up to 800 kilometres, almost 500 miles. Our bikes are still being serviced after the trip we made to France and Spain to test out some of the tours that we will be offering to you. And therefor we volunteered to be a checkpoint. A secret checkpoint! And although we are secret, we don't want the participants to miss us so we made ourselves visable with our van and some flags and we are offering participants coffee, tea and a typical worstenbroodje from Brabant. A sausage roll. So, we have to get ready.
If you think - like we do - that 800 kilometres or 500 miles on a one day ride is a bit too much, we will have some nice rides for your 2022 roadtrip in The Netherlands, Belgium, France and Spain. So follow us so you won't miss it when we go live with our Quazy Rides planning tool!
